This is a photo of a summer camp staff banquet held during the year.  It was a "thank you" for a job well done and to tell the staff about the upcoming season and see if they wanted to be a part of it.

The camp staff, following camp, was rewarded with a trip to Boquillas Canyon downstream from the Big Bend of Big Bend National Park.  This picture was taken in the canyon.  This surplus military truck and the camp truck were used as transportation for the "thank you" to staff.

One year the camp staff "thank you trip" was by canoe from Tow, Texas across Lake Travis (fighting a strong head wind) all the way to Camp Tom Wooten.  They believed they had vehicle help at Mansfield Dam because it would have been a very long portage.  Herbie Gaskin, the son of the Scout Executive Herb Gaskin, was on this trip.

We want to thank Don Lee for providing us with the photo of the staff trip to Boquillas Canyon and to Leo Lee for the other two top photos of the staff.  Also to Roy Rutherford for the photo of the professional staff of 1953.  Also to John Wittliff for sending us the 1966 Staff photo, Bob Reitz for the 1966 staff chart, and David and Clarence Bell for their help in identifying some of the staff members in the photo.
