E. URNER GOODMAN CAMPING AWARD


Plaque hangs in Brownwood Scout Office

Otena Lodge was one of three lodges in the Nation to receive the E. Urner Goodman Camping Award in 1992. The Award was presented at the National Council Meeting to Dr. T.C. Graves, the Council's National Council Representative on behalf of the Order of the Arrow. 

The award was established as a tribute and testimonial to the Order's founder, E. Urner Goodman. Its purpose is to encourage and challenge Order of the Arrow members and lodges to increase their effectiveness in promoting and increasing Scout camping in each council.  The awards is presented to one outstanding OA lodge in each region annually.
