The bell tower was primarily a Sunset Chapter project as I recall working on it over several weekends.  Lambert Berkman, and I with others put in time for various parts.  Someone had contact with a mason that gave me the first lesson in modern masonry methods:  ….in lieu of building a solid rock structure, they laid a concrete masonry unit (CMU- or concrete block) core that was later covered with the stone.  By Mike Holeman
